Volunteer
If you are interested in learning more about our programs and how you can best use your talents at the wildlife center, please complete the steps below.
How to Become a Volunteer
Start our online application by creating a profile with Better Impact, our volunteer software, and complete the application.
The onboarding process includes a background check for all volunteers 18 and older. You will be asked to provide the following as part of the onboarding:
- Government-issued identification
- Signed waivers
- Photo
Attend an orientation session and be assigned to the volunteer schedule.
For volunteers under 18: Due to the safety risks of working with some of our wildlife species, we do not accept volunteers under the age of 18 to work in our on-site volunteer roles. If someone under the age of 18 wants to get involved with the Desert Wildlife Center, we have volunteer project opportunities (collecting donation items, building owl boxes).
